Adrey

Adrey is a short name that is mostly given to boys but in rare cases, girls have been named Adrey as well. Adrey originated from the Sanskrit language and the meaning of Adrey is 'mountains', 'as hard as a rock', or 'rock'. Adrey is a variant of Adri who finds numerous mentions in Hindu mythology and Vedic literature. In the Puranas, Adri was a King who was the son of Visvagasva. Adri in the Kannada language is a disease treating herb Patala, or Stereospermum Chelonoides which is sued to treat rheumatism, infections, inflammation, and cancer. It is an endemic herb of South Asia. Adrey has its roots in the Hebrew language as well where Adri means Adriel. Adriel in the ‘Holman Illustrated Bible Dictionary’ was a nobleman in the ancient kingdom of Israel. According to the ‘Book of Samuel’, Adriel was married to Mehrab and he was the son of Barzillai the Meholathite. Adriel in Hebrew means 'my help is God'. Adrey given its Sanskrit root is used in Hindi-speaking countries and in a few parts of English-speaking countries. Adrey's variant Adri is commonly used.
