Baltasaru

Baltasaru is a name of Greek and Babylonian origin. It is a name used mostly for boys. The meaning of Baltasaru is ‘God protects the king’ or ‘Baal protects the king.’ Baal/Bal is a Hebrew name meaning ‘Lord’ or ‘owner.’ During ancient times in Middle Eastern communities, the Baal god was worshipped, especially among the Canaanites who considered him one of the most important gods in the Pantheon and the Fertility Deity. Baal is believed to be the Universal God of fertility, giving him the titles Lord or ‘Prince’ of the Earth. In Canaan, she is known as the Lord Of rain and Dew, the two forms much needed for the fertile soil of Canaan. In Hebrew and Ugaritic, he was known as the Storm God who rode on the clouds. He was known as Lord of the Heavens, Baal Shamen in Phoenician. But Baal was not only considered the God of fertility. He was also considered the ‘King of the gods’ as he was portrayed as the divine Kingship from Yamn (sea god).
