Caliadne

Caliadne is a Greek origin name and is commonly given as a feminine name. The meaning of Caliadne is 'beautiful', 'holy'. According to Greek mythology, Caliadne was a naiad nymph of the Nile river in Egypt and is probably considered the daughter of Nilus, the river God. Caliadne was one of the wives of the Egyptian King Aegyptus and gave birth to 12 sons. During their wedding night, her sons were slain by her sister Polyxo's daughters and Libya's King Danaus. As per Hippostratus' account, Aegyptus had his offspring by Eurryroe, the daughter of Nilus. In some accounts, Aegyptus mingled with his cousin Isaie, the Agenor's daughter and Tyre's king. Caliadne has other spelling variations, such as Caliadna and Kaliadne. Caliadne is a unique first name usually given to females by parents inspired by the Greek mythological goddess, and it's not a common last name for adults and children.
