They were all Italian fantasy and adventure-based romantic movies. Lamberto Bava directed a series of five television movies that aired between 1991 and 1996. The first movie is set in a fairy tale world with princesses, princes, witches, magicians, and talking animals. It was shot largely in Czechia and Slovakia with local performers, and it was extremely successful in Italy during the 1990s. It was roughly turned into a cartoon animated series of the same name. A reboot series had been scheduled for 2021.
