Hera
The meaning of Hera is ‘warrior’ or ‘queen’. It is a name generally given to girls and is of Greek origin. The name derives from the Greek word ‘hḗrōs' which means ‘hero.’ Hera was Zeus's wife and the goddess of women, love, and family. Her counterpart in Roman mythology is Juno. She is often depicted with a scepter, a long robe, and a crown. She is the queen of the Olympian gods and the daughter of Cronus and Rhea. She was well-known for her hostility to Zeus' illegitimate children and lovers. Women worshiped her because it was thought that if they prayed to her, they would be blessed with a happy marriage and children. Cronus, her father, swallowed her as an infant because he was scared his children would be more powerful than him. Hera influenced Heracles' name, as Heracles was Hera's stepson. Heracles, which means 'Hera's glory,' is composed of the words 'hera' and 'kleos,' which means 'glory.' He is mostly depicted with his signature bow and arrow, and he was considered as one of ancient Greece's greatest heroes. Hera, on the other hand, hated Heracles because he was Zeus' offspring from another woman.
