Khadijah, also spelled as Khadija and Khadeeja, is an Arabic commonly used to refer to a baby girl. The meaning of Khadijah is,' trustworthy', or 'respected'. The Turkish variant of the name is Hatice. In 1995, Khadijah became one of the most famous feminine names in Arabic countries, with other popular names like Aisha and Fathima. The Islamic prophet Muhammad's first wife was Khadija Bint Khuwaylid, a wealthy woman in Mecca who came from a rich background of merchants.
