Pema

Pema is a gender-neutral name, and the meaning of Pema is 'lotus'. A Tibetan Buddhist living in America named Pema Chödrön is a former acharya of Shambhala Buddhism, an ordained nun, and a follower of Chögyam Trungpa Rinpoche. As of 2022, Indian politician Pema Khandu serves as the Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh. He is the son of former Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Dorjee Khandu. Since becoming Chief Minister in July 2016, he and his administration have twice switched parties: first, from the Indian National Congress to the Peoples Party of Arunachal in September, and then from that party to the Bharatiya Janata Party in December. He had previously worked under Nabam Tuki's administration as Minister of Tourism, Urban Development, and Water Resources. Pema Lingpa, also known as Padma Lingpa, was a saint and siddha from Bhutan who practiced Tibetan Buddhism's Nyingma school. He is regarded as the first of the 'Five Tertön Kings' and is known as a terchen or preeminent tertön. Pema Lingpa is the second-most significant figure in the Nyingma school's history in Bhutan, right behind Padmasambhava.
