Coll is a small island
west of Mull in the Inner Hebrides of Scotland. Coll is known for its sandy beaches, which rise to form large sand dunes.

it has been used as an anglicized form of Colla (Gaelic), possibly from Old Celtic meaning "high".
Coll is a farmer and retired soldier in Lloyd Alexander's "The Book of Three".
