Hazel Grace Lancaster was the main character in John Green’s ‘The Fault In Our Stars’ and had us weeping by the end of the book. This name is taken from the Old English word ‘haesel’ and tthe meaning of Hazel is 'the hazel tree'. The word hazel also refers to the colour, which is a light reddish-brown hue.
